Validation of a European Patent

To validate a European Patent in Germany, a German translation of the patent specification must be submitted to the German Patent and Trademark Office up to 3 months after the European Patent has been granted and listed in the European Patent Bulletin. A publication fee is also due. A German translation is required by the Austrian Patent Office, along with the publication fee, within 3 months of the date it is granted. The Belgium Patent Office accepts German, French and Dutch applications.
National Phase of a PCT Application

Applicants of a PCT in Germany , Belgium or Austria must submit a translation of the application in German along with the national application fee up to 30 months after the priority date.
